The second round of the grass court Libema Open sees two qualifiers face each other. Elena-Gabriela Ruse faces Carson Branstine who beat the top seed in round one. Here's our match prediction.
Branstine was 231st in the latest rankings and has a career-high of only 190th. The Canadian had to qualify to get into the main draw of this WTA 250 tournament. Both matches were won in straight sets including a win over eighth-seeded Julie Niemier.
A major shock was caused by the 24-year-old in round one as she beat top seed and defending champion Liudmila Samsonova in three sets. It's not bad going for a player who's taking part in her first professional grass court tournament.
This year has seen her win a hard court ITF title and reach another final on that surface.
Elena-Gabriela Ruse is far more experienced on grass courts. The German is up to 72nd in the live rankings after three wins this week. Only six games were lost in her two qualifying matches. Round one saw Ruse beat fellow qualifier Isis Louise van den Broek for the loss of only three games.
Ruse qualified for the Wimbledon main draw last year but lost to Elena Rybakina. We tip her to beat Branstine in straight sets.
