FA Cup replay action sees a fourth-round rematch between Cardiff and Reading take place this week. The Championship teams can't see enough of each other of late, nor can they seem a way to separate their quality. Two draws in the space of a week - one in the cup, one in the league - show that they are two clubs that are evenly matched. Cardiff are three places and five points better off than Reading in 12th place in the second tier. Bluebirds boss Neil Harris might argue that this doesn't reflect how much mightier his side were in their league battle with Reading. They bossed possession and got more shots away. However, they required a Callum Paterson goal midway through the second half to get a 1-1 draw.
It was the second time in the space of a few days that Reading's Ivorian forward Yakou Meite was able to find a way past Cardiff's defence. The tricky attacker hasn't scored many goals this season (only scoring eight in all competitions) but he clearly enjoys these repeated matches against Cardiff. Each of his two goals (one in each 1-1 draw) were scored in the opening ten minutes. This shows both how alert he is and how the Cardiff can be caught napping early on. They have conceded eight goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches in the Championship this season. So don't be surprised to see them falling behind. Back Reading draw no bet.
