Cape Verde and Cameroon meet in their final group match at the Stade d'Olembé. Cape Verde are third in the group with three points and Cameroon top the group with six points. Cape Verde have the exact same goal difference as second place Burkina Faso but have scored fewer goals than their rivals. Cape Verde know that they will have to cause a major upset order to progress as only a victory will give them a chance to qualify for the next round. If they draw their match then they would need Ethiopia to do them a favor and beat Burkina Faso which seems very unlikely. Cape Verde loss in their last match against Ethiopia was their first loss in their last six matches. They have a very good record against Cameroon losing only once in their last four matches with one draw and two wins.

Hosts Cameroon have started the tournament of with two wins and sit comfortably at the top of Group A. They are almost assured of a place in the next round unless something catastrophic happens. They just need a draw to guarantee that they finish as group winners. Cameroon are on a great run winning their last six matches across all competitions. Their last loss came in the World Cup qualifiers when thye lost to the Ivory Coast. They did however have the last laugh as they qualified for Qatar at the expense of the Ivorians. Cameroon have never lost at home to Cape Verde.
