Burundi will welcome Mauritania to Stade El Bachir, Mohammedia in their final friendly clash. This is the first meeting between these two sides since 2020, when Burundi snatched a 3-1 victory in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification. Here's our match prediction.
Burundi comes into this match after seeing off the threat of Guinea-Bissau in a slender 1-0 away win on Friday. This extended their winning run to two games.
Before this resurgence, Intamba had failed to win their last five matches across all international competitions, recording one draw and four losses.
Their home form, though, has not been convincing. Despite a 5-0 thrashing of Seychelles in the World Cup Qualifiers, that was just their second win in ten matches (D2, L6), indicating signs of inconsistency.
Mauritania, on the other hand, are still searching for their first win on the international stage since a shocking 1-0 home win against Mali in the Africa Nations Championship qualification in December 2024.
Since then, they have gone four matches without a win, recording two draws and two losses. They failed to score in two encounters during this period.
In their most recent friendly clash, Al-Murabitun squandered a one-goal lead against Central Africa to suffer a 2-1 defeat on the road. This result extended their losing streak to two games.

Mauritania have not been at their best when playing away from home. Last seen beating Sudan 3-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations qualification on June 20, 2023, they have gone 12 matches without a win.
