Real Betis face Dinamo Zagreb in the playoff prior to the Round of 16 in the Europa Conference League and the Spanish side probably won't have a better chance to end their run of seven successive knockout phase games in European competition without a win. Betis are doing well in La Liga and lie 6th in the table however they will be disappointed to be in this competition after losing both their final two Group Stage games in the Europa League to drop down to third in Group C behind Sparta Prague and Rangers. Betis have lost just four games this season in La Liga, but they have drawn 11 of their 24 games, the most of any team in the division along with Mallorca and Cadiz. Betis had reached the knockout phase of the Europa League in the last two seasons losing out to Eintracht Frankfurt and Manchester United on those two occasions.

Dinamo Zagreb will not be looking forward to their trip to Seville to take on Betis, despite the home side's poor record in the knockout phase of European competition. That is because Zagreb's record in Europe on the road against Spanish clubs is dismal. From 7 games, they have lost all seven  They have bounced back into action in the Croatian League pretty well since the winter break, winning two and drawing one of their last three games, but they were beaten 3-0 at home by NK Lokomotiva in their first game after the break. However it took two wins in their final two Conference League Group Stage games for them to reach this stage and it could be a long evening for the Croatian side on Thursday night.
