Australia vs Germany Prediction & Betting Tips - United Cup

Hosts Australia take on Germany in the second of the United Cup semi-finals. The winner of this best-of-three matches tie will take on either Poland or France in the final. Australia and Germany both failed to get out of their groups in the first United Cup tournament held last year. It's gone better this time around, particularly for Australia who qualified from a tough group that also included defending champions, the USA and Great Britain. The Australians surprisingly lost their opening group game 2-1 to the British team with both of the singles being lost by Alex de Minaur and Ajla Tomljanovic. They bounced back well with a 2-1 victory over the USA that knocked their opponents out of the tournament. De Minaur won against Taylor Fritz, Tomljanovic lost again but their mixed doubles partnership of Storm Hunter and Matthew Ebdon were again winners. That took them into the last eight on set difference. It was surprisingly easy for them in their quarter final as they beat Serbia 3-0. 

Germany also didn't have it all their own way in the group stages. They beat Italy 2-1 but lost to France by the same scoreline but qualified as the best second placed team who played in Sydney. Alexander Zverev won both of his singles but the returning Angelique Kerber was beaten in both of hers. In the quarter finals, Germany overcame Greece 2-1. Kerber again lost her singles match but Zverev continued his good form with a win over Stefanos Tsitsipas. In the deciding mixed doubles, Maria Sakkari teamed up with Petros Tsitsipas and were beaten in straight sets by Zverev and Laura Siegemund. This semi-final looks as if it'll go down to the mixed doubles and the team of Hunter and Ebden looks strong and can take Australia into the final.
