Australia play their final match in Pool D of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. At the time of writing this preview they are top of the pool but that's unlikely to be the case by the time this match starts. Wales take on Fiji on October 9 and a win for them will see them climb above Australia. With the Welsh side having a final game against Uruguay, it looks as if the Wallabies will finish second and end up facing either England or France in the quarter finals. The worst case scenario for Australia is a bonus point win for Fiji over Wales and defeat by Georgia as that would see them in danger of being eliminated.
That shouldn't be the case though because Georgia have only won one of their three games in this pool. They lost to Wales by 29 points and to Fiji by 35 so for them to get a win over Australia looks highly unlikely. This is the first clash between the two nations and even though Georgia have the chance to finish third in the pool and qualify automaticially for the 2023 tournament, this looks a game that Australia can win and can be backed on a -24 handicap.
