Return to winning ways will be the agenda for both Atalanta and Napoli when they next meet, in Serie A. Atalanta, fifth in the standings host fourth placed Napoli, with only one point separating them. While they could rise to the Champions League slots with a win here, Atalanta have been shaky in recent matches. They come into this game having drawn 1-1 with Udinese before the international break. That result left them with just a win in their last three matches, but they’ve only lost once in six matches. An area Atalanta have maintained consistency is in attack, scoring in all but one of their last 10 matches. It is in defence that they are struggling at the moment, with two clean sheets in five matches.

Napoli’s title defence isn’t going as expected. In their title winning run last season, they lost four matches. After 12 matches this season, they’ve already suffered three losses. They are clearly struggling to cope with the pressure. Their most recent defeat came in their last game, just before the international break. They were shockingly beaten by struggling Empoli, 1-0. Now they have just one win in their last four matches, putting in account Champions League action as well. In the last five league matches, Napoli have lost twice and kept just one clean sheet in the process. They have however failed to score in only one of those five league matches, three of them ending with over 2.5 goals.
