Sparta Prague will hope to book their place in the knockout rounds of the Europa League on Thursday away to Aris Limassol. They currently sit third in Group C, three points above fourth-placed Limassol. Aris Limassol cannot advance to the next round but they can book a place in the play-off knockout rounds of the Conference League. To do so, they will have to win here by three clear goals. A difficult task given that they have won only once in the group and have conceded the most goals (10). Aleksey Shpilevski’s men, who have accumulated four points in this group, are struggling with a lack of consistency. They have won just twice in six outings and in this stretch have been defeated three times. One of those defeats came last time out as they fell 2-1 away to AEK Larnaca in the Cypriot domestic league.

Sparta Prague are in excellent form at the moment and will be confident of victory here. The Czech heavyweights have won their last five fixtures with four of those coming in the domestic topflight where they sit top. Sparta defeated Jablonec 3-0 last time out. The Reds beat group leaders Real Betis 1-0 on Match Day 5. Their second victory in the group kept their name in the hat for a place in the knockout rounds. Victory here will confirm this and may also see them end things off as group winners. Sparta are two points off top spot having accumulated seven points. A draw will see them drop down to the Conference League.
