After getting stripped of the Copa America hosting rights, Argentina are in Brazil, ready to take on Chile in their opening Group B game on Monday. Matches pitting Argentina and Chile will better be remembered more for the back to back finals that Chile won, in 2015 and 2016. Their matches have however been tightly fought and defined by close margins. Argentina will hope for a lot of improvement in this game after letting go a 2-0 lead in their last game, to draw 2-2 with Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers. Whereas they have undoubted talent in attack, Argentina have shown a serious shortage in defensive, and have just three clean sheets in the last 10 matches. This match comes two weeks after taking on Chile in the World Cup qualifiers and they hope to set up a momentum to win them this title for the first time since 1993. They are on a 13-game unbeaten run but their last four matches have three draws therein
Chile have two triumphs in the last three Copa America finals, and while they do not go to this year’s competition as favorites, they still hold the surprise element. They haven’t had the best of runs ahead of this competition and going to this game they are winless in their last three competitive matches. Their only win in the last four games was a 2-1 victory over Bolivia in a friendly game. They have drawn their last two matches, one of them against Argentina, and they have no clean sheet in the last four matches.

Our Argentina vs Chile Prediction
Both Argentina and Chile have depicted struggles in defence. The two sides aren’t short of talent in attack, Argentina led by Lionel Messi, and Chile by Alexis Sanchez but the same can’t be said of the defences. The two forwards were on the mark in the nations’ meeting earlier this month and with the performances from the defences, we aren’t backing either side to keep a clean sheet. While a draw looks likely, both sides to score comes with lesser risk.
