A seeded player looks in danger of a first round exit at Roland Garros. 29th seed Linda Noskova faces unseeded Anastasia Potapova for a place in the second round of this outdoor clay court Grand Slam. Time for our match prediction.

Noskova is 29th in the live rankings and that's eight places above her opponent. The Czech has made a slow start to her clay court season with four of her seven matches being lost. Both of her last two matches have ended in defeat, most recently to Liudmila Samsonova in Strasbourg.

The 20-year-old has only won three of her last ten matches in singles tournaments. Three previous French Open appearances have seen her fail to get past the second round.

Anastasia Potapova reached the fourth round at Roland Garros last year but then lost to eventual champion Iga Swiatek without winning a game. This year has seen her win five out of seven on clay.

Her best run has been making it to the fourth round in Rome with some notable wins over Qinwen Zheng and Sofia Kenin. Clara Tauson has also been beaten by her on this surface in 2025 and we tip Potapova to set up a second round match against either Sorana Cirstea or Tamara Korpatsch.
