Holger Rune is seeded fifth in the outdoor hard court Canadian Open. In the last 32 of this Masters tournament, he takes on 29th-seeded Alexandre Muller. The winner faces either Danill Medvedev or defending champion Alexei Popyrin in the next round. Time for our match prediction.

While Rune is best known for his clay court exploits, he did reach the last four at Indian Wells this year. That saw him get wins over Daniil Medvedev, Tallon Greikspoor, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Ugo Humbert.

Muller is 41st in the live rankings and struggled in his one match played so far this week in Toronto. The 28-year-old needed three sets to defeat unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic. Last week was a struggle too with a 6-0 6-1 loss to Corentin Moutet in Washington.

He'll want to rediscover the form that saw him win the hard court tournament in Hong Kong six months ago. This is the first time since then he's made it to round three of a hard court tournament. We tip Rune to win in straight sets.
