Alexander Zverev will be seeking to extend Team Europe’s advantage at the Laver Cup when he faces Alex de Minaur on Day 2. This is their 11th career meeting and the first this season. Zverev announced his return to the Laver Cup in February shortly after finishing as runner-up at the Australian Open. The world number three, who has an 8-2 record against de Minaur, is competing in his sixth Laver Cup.
Alex de Minaur is part of the six-man squad representing Team World at this year’s championships. This is his second appearance. He first took part in the Laver Cup in 2022 as the world number 22.
Only the third Australian to play at the Laver Cup, de Minaur secured his spot earlier in September following Frances Tiafoe’s withdrawal.
The world number eight was in action earlier in the week, taking part in the Davis Cup, where he won one of two fixtures.
