AC Milan would look to brush aside their European disappointment when they take on a tricky Monza side in this weekend clash. This Serie A matchday 16 will be played at Milan’s home of San Siro Stadium on Sunday. The hosts are 3rd ahead of this round with 29 points while the visitors are 9th with 21 points. Milan have a seven-point bridge to gap with the second-placed Juventus while Roma are right behind their shoulder with a four-point gap. The hosts can’t afford to take things lightly as they also look to forget the hurt in Champions League. The Rossoneri defeated Newcastle United but fell short of qualifying out of the group. In the league, they were beaten 3-2 by Atalanta last week ending a three-game unbeaten run.

Monza are three points away from sixth-placed Napoli as they continue to punch above their weight. The visitors had a creditable 1-0 win over Genoa last time out, a result that made it two wins and three draws from their last six league games. Their only defeat came against Juventus though, making it four losses in the league campaign this season. Three of their overall four defeats in this league campaign have come away from home, although their recent five-game run raises hopes. Monza lost just one of their last five away league games, winning and drawing two each.
