The Olympics Badminton Mixed Doubles final is here and duking it out for the gold medal will be China’s Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong taking on South Korea's Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun on Friday afternoon. The Chinese duo are the number one seeds in the world right now while the South Koreans are seeded eighth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Siwei and Yaqiong came through Group A with flying colours, racking up three wins in a row to top the standings ahead of their upcoming opponents, as well as Thom Gicquel / Delphine Delrue and Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. 

The Chinese duo continued their dominance in the knockout stages, overcoming compatriots Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in the quarter-final before making surprisingly light work of Japan’s Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino in the semis. 

Notably, Siwei and Yaqiong have not dropped a single set in the competition to date and have conceded over 17 points in a set only once. 

Meanwhile, Won-ho and Na-eun were no match for the Chinese duo during the group stage, as they lost in straight sets 21-13 and 21-14. In fact, they managed only one win in Group A but got through to the knockouts on points scored (130). 

The South Koreas then overcame Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei in the quarter-final before requiring three sets to take down compatriots Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yoo-jung in the semis. 

However, while they have fought valiantly to reach the final here, it looks as though it is going to take something truly remarkable to overcome the top seeds.
