Wolves vs Sevilla Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League

The Europa League will be played to a conclusion in Germany and in this quarter final, Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Sevilla. The English Premier League side finished seventh in the table and that was good enough last season to take them into this competition. Not so this season thanks to Arsenal winning the FA Cup, so Wolves can't be in the Europa League next season whatever happens in Germany. They can however win this competition and do even better and be in next season's Champions League. This is a tough draw for them and even if they get past Sevilla, there's a likely clash with Manchester United in the last four. Wolves beat Olympiakos 1-0 on Thursday to reach the last eight. It took a Jimenez penalty to get them through but at least they qualified. Their season in the Premier League was another solid effort and a top four finish was a possibility at one stage. Considering their slow start of just four points from their first six games, they did well to finish seventh. Perhaps it was the glut of Europa League qualifiers that actually cost them their place in next season's competition. A form guide for the last 30 league games had them in fifth. Wolves come into this match having lost just one of their last five league and cup games (the away loss to Chelsea) and in the Europa League, have only lost two of their 16 games played since the end of last year, or as they call it 'this season.'  The last three on the road have produced two draws and a loss in Espanyol. High scoring games and Wolves tend not to go together. 11 of their last 12 games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and each of the last six played away from home.

Now they take on another Spanish side, but one that have been playing a lot better than relegated Espanyol. Sevilla finished fourth in the table and had a strong finish to their season. They won five of their last six games and only conceded one goal. That continued their good pre-lockdown form and after the 2-0 win over Roma in midweek, they are now unbeaten in their last 18 league and cup fixtures. They certainly know how to win this competition having won the second level UEFA tournament on five occasions. Their games are not always high scoring ones though with five of the last six having under 2.5 goals scored in them.  Their last five Europa League matches have also seen that stat come up. A bet on under 2.5 goals in this match is the tip.
