The world champions USA take on third ranked France in the quarter finals of the 2019 FIBA World Basketball Cup. The Americans are chasing a third straight title but probably didn't expect to have to play the French in the last eight. It's happened though because France could only finish second in their group after losing to Australia. France won their first three group matches though they only beat Germany by four points. That took them into the second group stage where again they had some tight matches. They beat Lithuania by three points to secure a quarter final spot but then lost to Australia by two points causing them to finish second in the group and end up playing the world champions rather than the Czech Republic. The USA had a scare in the first group stage when having to go to overtime to get a win over Turkey. Other games have produced clear wins and after a confident display against Brazil, they seem to be coming to the boil just at the right time. Go for them to get the win over France and reach the last four.
