Turkiye put up a massive fight against Poland on Thursday but eventually fell to a 3-2 defeat. They have now split their six matches in the 2026 VNL, three wins and three losses.
Adis Lagumdzija surpassed the 100-point mark for the team in the loss to the White and Reds. With 103 points, the opposite spiker now ranks sixth in the leading point scorer standings.
Turkiye are currently ninth in the standings. They have won five and lost five of their last 10 matches in all competitions, but have never beaten their upcoming opponents in a major tournament.
Meanwhile, after a dismal first week in the competition, Argentina have got several of their big players back for Week 2 and have rattled off back-to-back wins over Germany and China.
Luciano Vicentin has been the standout performer for the team in this tournament. He is one of seven players to have scored more than 100 points, while also producing 10 blocks and four aces.
The victory over China moved Argentina up to 14th in the standings. They have now split their last 10 matches in all competitions, five wins and five defeats.
