The return leg of the CONCACAF Nations League quarter-final sees Trinidad & Tobago taking on the United States. The winner of this tie advances to the semi-final where they will meet up with either Canada or Jamaica. The United States Men’s national team (USMNT) has one foot into the semi-final after a 3-0 win in the first leg. It certainly took them a while to make the breakthrough however, as Trinidad held out until the 82nd minute with 10 men before a Ricardo Pepi strike broke the deadlock. They come into this match on a two game losing streak after a 5-3 defeat to Curacao in the group stage. It was the Soca Warriors’ only loss in the group stage as they finished with a positive three wins from four and in second-place. Trinidad & Tobago were able to win both of their home group stage matches which should give them a needed confidence boost ahead of this possible elimination spot. The hosts are ranked 103rd in the latest FIFA rankings while their opponents come in at 15th. They’ll have to flip the script here and cause a massive upset to deny the United States a possible third-straight Nations League title.
