Tour de France - Stage 12 Predictions & Betting tips - Tour de France
by Matthew Newman |
Into the mountains we go for Stage 12 of the Tour de France. The first Hors Category climb will see the peloton finish on top of Hautacam. There is nowhere to hide here; only the strongest riders can be considered in our prediction.
Jonas Vingegaard won the stage into Hautacam when last here in 2022, breaking Tadej Pogacar late on. The way the stage is set up this year leans more towards a breakaway group rather than the GC riders contesting the win, however.
Jayco Alula are regularly on the attack, and this could be another day for Ben O'Connor. He went on the attack on Stage 10, where he finished fourth, but he is still far enough back to be allowed up the road.
Michael Storer already has a pair of top-five finishes on the tour this year, both when he has been part of a breakaway. He finished tenth overall in the Giro and would be dangerous if allowed into the break again.
Cofidis will be looking to make an impression, and a wildcard here is Dylan Teuns. He has been very quiet so far, but was a stage winner in both 2019 and 2021. He was also 11th on a stage in 2023 that finished on Mont-Blanc, so he can climb.
