Tottenham continue their hunt for a Champions League place when they host West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night. Eighth in the table, Spurs are four points behind fifth, currently held by Manchester United. Fifth place will be the final Champions League place unless Manchester City's European ban is overturned upon appeal. West Ham face a much more dire situation from their 17th-place position, level on points with Bournemouth immediately below them. Aston Villa, in 19th, are only one further behind. Jose Mourinho will have mixed emotions about his side's 1-1 draw with Man United on Friday night. They played well on the counter-attack but were starved of the ball for long periods of the game. The late penalty conceded by Eric Dier frames the game as one in which two points were dropped and a chance to catch up on a rival was missed. It means that Spurs have now gone four games without a win in the Premier League. At home, they have been better, winning three of their last six games. A long-term injury to Harry Kane in January was a huge blow to Mourinho but the England forward is fit again and played against United. Match sharpness still has to be acquired and his performance left plenty to be desired as he registered only one shot, which was blocked.

Happy to frustrate United by sitting deep, Spurs will have to change tactics to break down West Ham. Breaking down West Ham hasn't been a problem for many teams in recent months, the Hammers failing to keep a clean sheet in their last ten Premier League games. Away from home, they are on a losing streak of six games. They have failed to score in three of those games and we don't see them having the quality on the break to turn the tide against Spurs. Back Spurs to win with a clean sheet.
