The final match on Saturday’s stacked Premier League card comes from North London, where Tottenham Hotspur will be taking on Newcastle United. These teams scored seven goals in their two league matches last season, and we are going for both sides to get on the scoresheet in this encounter too as our main prediction.
The Roberto De Zerbi era at Spurs kicked off with a major disappointment, as he saw his side get stung by the Bees at the Gtech last weekend. The Italian tactician will be demanding a response from his side here, though it will not be an easy task given that the Lilywhites were beaten in this exact fixture 2-1 in February this year.
Matthias Jaissle’s Premier League bow brought mixed emotions, with his side managing to earn a point against Liverpool, though they were just seconds away from securing an opening day victory. The Magpies have won three of their last four visits to this venue - can they add another victory to that impressive record this weekend? Let’s get into the key stats!

Tottenham - Newcastle: Form Analysis
After a major summer overhaul, Tottenham Hotspur’s start to life under De Zerbi in the EPL began with a poor display as they slumped to a 3-0 hammering to Brentford on the road last weekend.
However, the Lilywhites bounced back from that defeat with an impressive showing against Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, winning their first home game of the season 5-1.
One of Spurs’ biggest issues last season was their home record. They only won three of their 19 league matches at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last term, one of which was against Everton on the final day.
Spurs conceded the second-most goals in home games in the EPL last season (31)!
Meanwhile, Newcastle United produced an impressive performance against Liverpool, but a Dominik Szoboszlai goal in the ninth minute of stoppage time forced them to settle for a 2-2 draw.
The Magpies were then made to work for their spot in the third round of the EFL Cup by West Bromwich Albion in midweek, but a late goal by Harvey Barnes ultimately earned them a 3-2 victory.
The visitors struggled on the road last term, earning just 17 points from their 19 away games (W4 D5 L10). They also scored the joint-second-fewest away goals of any team in the top flight (17).

Tottenham & Newcastle Squad Analysis
As many as five players were handed debuts for Spurs last week, but Marcos Senesi was the standout performer. The former Bournemouth man led the team in passes (75), duels won (12) and successful tackles (5).
Richarlison led the line from the off against the Bees but only managed 17 touches before he was taken off in the 68th minute. Dominic Solanke started and got on the scoresheet in midweek and may get the nod for this match.
James Maddison logged crucial minutes last week following a lengthy injury, but Spurs still have several injury absentees at present, including Pape Sarr, Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus.
Keep an eye on Harvey Barnes this weekend!
The 28-year-old came off the bench to score twice and lead Newcastle to victory against West Brom earlier in the week. Barnes has now recorded five direct goal contributions in his last six competitive matches (4 goals, 1 assist).
Yoanne Wissa was deployed in the number 10 role against the Reds last weekend, and was arguably the Magpies' best player, recording a team-high four shots at goal and ending the match with exactly 1.0 xG.
Dan Burn and Tino Livramento are ruled out through injury. Joelinton was a late withdrawal last week and is still sidelined, meaning young Sean Steur or Joe Willock will likely start in central midfield.

Our Tottenham vs Newcastle Prediction
Tottenham Hotspur are still expected to have a better season than last term - but as we saw last week when they shipped three goals against Brentford - it may take a few weeks for their new-look defence to build cohesion.
Newcastle were also far from solid at the back last weekend, and further questions were raised in midweek when they conceded twice against West Brom. Given the starts these teams have made this season, we feel there will be goals at both ends in this match. Our Tottenham vs Newcastle prediction is BTTS.
