This has been a good tournament for Griekspoor in his two previous appearances. 2023 saw him get to the last eight and he was a semi-finalist last year. His run to the last four in 2024 included a straight sets win over Jacob Fearnley.
The Dutchman is 27th in the live rankings and has a 13-13 hard court record this year. Last week saw him reach the quarter-finals in Shanghai, losing to eventual shock champion Valentin Vacherot. He beat Jannik Sinner in that tournament so is in good form.
Jacob Fearnley is 79th in the live list but was as high as 49th at the start of the year. The British player is 15-13 on hard courts this year. Only two of his last six matches have been won. Most recently, he lost to Dominic Stricker in round two of a Challenger Tour event held last week.
