Sunderland will complete their regular season engagements with a home match against QPR on Saturday. QPR, placed 15th, are guaranteed survival while Sunderland will proceed to the playoffs. Read on for our prediction of the match.

For a while now, Sunderland have been sure of advancing to the postseason and have employed a relaxed approach. As such, the Black Cats have gone winless in the last five matches.

They gained just one point in the process, as they were assured of finishing in the top four positions. Regis le Bris will have this last opportunity to rest his key men before heading into the playoffs.

QPR, on their part, have secured their place in the Championship for at least one more season. The Rangers are coming from a heavy defeat. Last week they were blanked 5-0 by title hopefuls Burnley, a defeat that came right after a 2-1 loss to Swansea City.

With both defeats having been inflicted at home, the Hoops will hope for some reprieve on the road. They come into this game on a two-match winning run away from home.

Even with such a run away from home, QPR will still be here as the underdogs. They failed to beat Sunderland in any of their last six meetings across all competitions. Four of those ended in draws.
