Czech giants Sparta Prague will be hoping for a first leg advantage when they get to take on French side Monaco in the third qualifying round of the Champions League. After a slow start to the season, marked by a loss to Rapid Vienna in the first leg of the second qualifying round, Sparta Prague have managed to turn things around and are on two straight wins. They started their league campaign with a 3-2 win over Sigma Olomuc and went on to beat Rapid Vienna 2-0. They don’t seem to have problems in attack, having scored in each of their last five matches, and can only target improving defensively, having managed just one clean sheet in that run. In four of their last five matches, Sparta Prague have conceded two or more goals, though they’ve also scored two or more in four of the five. Both sides have scored in four of their last five matches and each of those have produced over 2.5 goals.

Monaco are just starting their season and have had a productive preseason, though they head here straight from a 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad. That is their only loss in the last five matches and they have been impressive in attack, only failing to score in the 0-0 draw with Antwerp. The French side has scored two or more goals in three of their last five matches while they’ve managed just one clean sheet, which means both teams have scored in four of their last five matches. Four of the last five matches have also produced over 2.5 goals and they will hope to fix the defence as they face a side that has also scored consistently.
