The quarter-finals of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League will kick off with Slovenia taking on Turkiye on Wednesday morning. Slovenia have won their last three VNL matches against this opponent, and our prediction is that they will come out on top in this one as well. 

Slovenia have been mightily impressive in this year’s VNL. They came through the group stage with 10 wins and just two losses and are hoping to get beyond their best-ever finish of fourth. 

Nik Mujanović has been the standout performer for his team in the competition with 227 points, including 196 off attacks. He was the third-highest scoring player in the group stage of the tournament. 

Slovenia have won 14 of their last 20 matches in all competitions and eight of their last 10 against this opponent since May 2018. 

Meanwhile, having only made their Nations League debut in 2024, Turkiye have been incredible this year, notching up eight wins in 12 games to earn their first-ever quarter-final berth. 

The Turks have been led by opposite spiker Adis Lagumdžija, who has notched up 219 points in the competition and is fourth in the leading scorer standings behind Mujanović. 

Turkiye have won 13 of their last 20 matches in all competitions. Their last win against this opponent came in a friendly in June last year.
