The final match on opening day in Week 2 of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League will see Slovenia locking horns with Canada on Wednesday evening. Neither of these sides has won a match in straight sets in this competition, which sees us leaning toward the points market here for our primary prediction.
Slovenia have made an impressive start to the 2026 VNL, winning their first three games of the competition against China, Poland and Cuba before losing to Japan in their final match of Week 1.
Nik Mujanovic has been incredible in attack for the team so far. The 21-year-old opposite spiker has racked up 89 points in his four matches, which places him second in the leading point scorer standings.
Slovenia are seventh in the league standings and have won seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions. They have never lost to Canada in four previous VNL encounters.
Meanwhile, Canada have plenty of work to do if they are to reach the final round of this competition, having lost three of their four Week 1 matches, with the exception being a 3-1 win against France.
However, the team does have two players currently ranked inside the top 10 scorers in the competition, with Eric Loeppky and Wassenaar Ketrzynski on 64 and 61 points, respectively.
Canada are in 13th place on the table and have won just three of their last 10 matches across all competitions.

Our Slovenia vs Canada Prediction
Slovenia has made a solid start to their 2026 VNL campaign, winning three of their first four games, but they have had to work for those victories, with each going to a fifth and final set.
While Canada has lost three of their four games, they have certainly not been outplayed, having won two sets in each of their defeats.
