Back in Europe’s top-tier football competition for the first time since 2008/09, SK Brann will look to take advantage of a tired Salzburg squad in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 competition. SK Brann - Salzburg: Form Analysis
Brann come into this match after a 2-0 defeat at the weekend against KFUM Oslo away from home in the domestic league. It continued an indifferent recent run for the hosts with two wins and defeats each in their last five league fixtures.
Playing at home has been a blessing, as Brann have won their last three league fixtures here. It’s a different challenge to translate that form to Europe, though, especially as they failed to go past the playoff round in the Conference League qualifiers last season.

Salzburg played a couple of friendlies post that Club World Cup trip, with both games witnessing three team goals (W1, L1). While their performance in the League phase last season wasn’t noteworthy (W1, L7), Salzburg have enough quality and pedigree to push their chances in this fixture.

Brann had Eivind Fauske Helland sent off in their weekend game but will be available for selection in Europe. The same is the case with Japhet Sery Larsen, who picked up a red card in the match before. The hosts have a few injury issues to deal with, though, ahead of this fixture.
Niklas Castro, Sakarias Opsahl, Jonas Torsvik, and Fredrik Knudsen are all out of contention for Brann. The sale of forward Aune Heggebo to West Brom has deprived them of a player who has already scored seven goals this season.
