Week 2 at the 2026 FIVB Nations League will draw to a close with Serbia taking on the USA on Sunday night. The USA have won their last four matches against this opponent, and we fancy them to extend that record here as our main match prediction. 

Serbia enter this match off the back of a poor performance, losing 3-0 to France on Saturday evening. Their record at the 2026 VNL now reads as four wins and three defeats in seven games. 

The Serbians do not have any of their players currently ranked inside the top 20 point scorers in the competition. Lazar Marinović leads the team with 77 points, including nine blocks in seven games. 

Serbia are the current gatekeepers to the final round in seventh place. They have only won four of their last 10 matches in all competitions and have not beaten their upcoming opponents since the 2021 VNL.

Meanwhile, the USA put up a very impressive display against high-flying Japan in their last match, but ultimately came up agonisingly short, losing the thrilling contest 3-2 last night. 

Jake Hanes has been America’s best player in this competition, currently on 106 points, including 12 blocks. Veteran Matthew Anderson has 81 points in his seven matches to date. 

The United States are second in the standings behind Japan, and have only lost two of their last 13 matches across all competitions since early-October last year.
