Thursday’s final match in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League will see Serbia taking on Ukraine. Ukraine has won four of their last five matches, and we fancy them to pull off an upset here as our main prediction. 

Serbia got Week 3 of the Nations League started very disappointingly, getting completely dismantled 3-0 by Türkiye yesterday, which saw them drop all the way to 11th place in the standings. 

Aleksandar Nedeljković led the team with 11 points in the defeat to the Turks. Lazar Marinović had a fairly quiet evening, managing just seven points, but he is the only player in the team to reach 100 points in this competition. 

Serbia is now on a three-match losing streak and has won just five of their last 15 in all competitions. They were also beaten by their upcoming opponents in a friendly ahead of this tournament. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine has been one of the surprise packages of the 2026 VNL. They beat Iran in their opening match of Week 3 yesterday and are now up to fifth place in the standings (W6 L3). 

Key to the team’s impressive form has been Vasyl Tupchii, who has 129 points in this competition, including 16 blocks. Dmytro Yanchuk has racked up 17 aces in the tournament in nine games. 

Ukraine has now won seven of their last 10 games. While they beat this opponent in May, they did lose three in a row to them prior to that victory.
