Week 1 at the 2026 Volleyball Nations League will see Serbia taking on Argentina on Wednesday afternoon. La Seleccion are unbeaten in their last six matches against this opponent, and our prediction is that they will be too good for Orlovi in this encounter.
Serbia endured a disastrous 2025 Nations League, finishing 16th from 18 teams, only above Turkiye and the Netherlands, with the Dutch side ultimately being relegated from the competition.
Things have not got too much better for the Eagles lately, as they enter the tournament on a four-match losing streak, defeated by Bulgaria, Ukraine, and twice by Slovenia 3-1.
They were beaten by this opponent 3-1 in last year’s competition and have not got the better of Argentina since 2022.
Meanwhile, Argentina will enter the 2026 VNL looking for a much better campaign compared to last, when they finished in 13th place - one of their least successful campaigns in recent years.
Since then, though, La Seleccion have been much better. They beat Venezuela 3-1 in a warm-up match a week ago and have now won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.
The South Americans are expected to have a full roster at their disposal here. Keep an eye on Bruno Lima, who many are expecting a big tournament from.
