The OKC Thunder will be away to the San Antonio Spurs next in the NBA looking to extend their current winning run. OKC are second in the Western Conference while the Spurs are rock bottom. The Spurs have lost their last five matches and possess the second-longest losing run in the West. They are coming off a 114-105 defeat to conference leaders Minnesota which was their 48th loss of the season. San Antonio haven’t won in five meetings with OKC and with their struggles, this could yet be another setback for them. The Spurs rank in the bottom 10 in both offence and defence and are giving up on average 120.6 points a night. This is almost 10 points higher than the 111.9 they are scoring. The hosts have no major injury concerns coming into this match. Rookie Victor Wembanyama leads the team in all but one of five categories. He is averaging a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

While the Spurs are on a negative streak, the OKC Thunder are on a hot streak. Mike Daigneault’s men have won their last six games and only one other team is currently on a longer winning run. In this period they have gotten the better of the Clippers, Magic and Kings. They are coming off a back-to-back with the Rockets with the last game seeing them win by 17 at home. OKC have now won 41 games and are half a game from top spot. Only four teams in the entire NBA at the moment have won at least 40 matches. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has led their charge. The guard is having an MVP-type season and is averaging 31.2 points and dishing out 6.5 assists a night. OKC also do not have any major concerns coming into this match. Gordon Hayward, acquired via trade from Charlotte, remains out injured.
