The 2025 Indian Premier League is set to resume this weekend with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday afternoon. RCB are second in the league standings, while KKR are sixth. Let’s get into the match prediction.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be hoping to pick up from where they left off before the league’s stoppage, when they were riding a four-match win streak.
RCB’s last match ended in an 11-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals, with Virat Kohli top-scoring for the team with 70 runs off 42 balls, while Josh Hazlewood bagged 4/33.
King Kohli is now fourth in the orange cap standings, just five runs behind current leader Suryakumar Yadav, while Hazlewood is two wickets off purple cap holder Prasidh Krishna.
Meanwhile, it’s crunch time for the Kolkata Knight Riders now, who have just two games left to play and need to win both to have a chance of getting into Playoff contention.
KKR suffered a painful two-wicket defeat to the Chennai Super Kings in their last match despite an excellent spell from Varun Chakaravarthy of 2/18 in his four overs.
While the Knight Riders have been the more successful side in this contest with 20 wins in 35 matches, RCB secured a commanding seven-wicket victory when they met earlier this season.
