Juventus suffered a demoralizing exit in the Champions League in midweek. Luciano Spalletti’s men had erased Galatasaray’s 5-2 advantage from the first leg in their playoff tie for the round of 16 after 90 minutes. But their hard work would all be for nothing, as in extra time, the Turkish giants scored twice to secure progression.
I Bianconeri, who were reduced to 10 men early against Gala, had not won in five games going into the second leg and had lost four times. Juve, who now only have Serie A to focus on, have accumulated 46 points. Only one point separates them from the two teams directly below them, and therefore they have this trip to the capital as a must-win.
