Both of these countries knew they had tough tasks to qualify for the second stage. As expected, they lost their games against Russia and Argentina and now have to focus on the 17th to 32nd classification games. Nigeria are the strong favourites to win this game and should be able to build some momentum. The Nigerian team had a chance to reach the second stage when putting up a great show against Russia in their opening game. They lost out 82-77 and followed that up with a 94-81 defeat by Argentina to end their hopes of winning the World Cup. Nigeria will rue making a poor start losing the first quarter of that game by 11 points. They leveled the score by half-time but another 11-point loss in the third quarter just couldn't be recovered.

South Korea have also lost both of their games but by a much larger margin. They lost their opening match to Argentina 95-69 and then were beaten by Russia by 14 points. The South Koreans made a slow start in that second game, losing the first quarter by nine points but clawed back six of those points by half-time. The third quarter was the vital one in that match with Russia winning it by 11 points before a drawn final quarter.  No Korean players managed to get a double figure score. Nigeria can be backed to win this game, go for them to win on a -7.5 handicap.
