Reading vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Reading have played five games this year but their only win was at home to Watford in the FA Cup. They are down to 16th in the Championship, while Watford are in fifth position. Last weekend saw Reading lose at Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round. Now they can turn their attention back to the Championship. Although being 16th, Reading are only six points from the final promotion play-off position and a comfortable 11 above the bottom three. Current form is not that of a potential Premier League side with only five points from their last five matches in the Championship. Four league games this year have only produced two draws and a couple of losses. Home form has been their strength this season with eight wins out of 13 in the Championship, compared to the 23rd best away record. Four of the last seven home league fixtures have seen under 2.5 goals scored in the game.

Watford are battling to get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. Automatic promotion looks out of the question with a 13 point gap to the top two. The play-offs are going to be their route and at present, they are two points above seventh place. They also aren't in the best of form with one point from their last two league games. Only in two of their last five league matches have they managed to score and had that 2-0 loss at Reading in the FA Cup last month. Four of their last five away league matches have seen under 2.5 goals scored in them. With just one of their last 12 games not having under 2.5 goals scored in them, betting on that stat coming up in this weekend's game looks a good wager to make.
