Racing Santander will host fellow strugglers Valencia this weekend in the Spanish La Liga. After seven rounds of play, the two teams sit in the bottom half of the table, with Racing in 16th and Valencia 19th. Both conceded at least three in their last round, and our prediction backs another high score here.
While doing badly in defence, Racing’s recent results have been a bit better than Valencia’s. The Verdiblancos are back in the topflight after a 14-year absence and have won twice so far.
They’ve lost four times and, with seven points, find themselves two above the bottom three. Alberto Lopez's men went into the international break with alarming form.
Racing lost their last two fixtures, against Barcelona and Celta Vigo, conceding at least five goals in each game.
Valencia also lost before going into the break. Javier Aguirre's men were outgunned 3-2 at home by Sociedad, suffering their fifth of the season, leaving them with just four points.
Los Che started the season without a win in their opening five games. A 1-0 victory at Alaves offered some reprieve as it halted a four-game skid.
The visitors were, however, back on the losing column in their very next match as they came short in a five-goal thriller against Real Sociedad.
Valencia are also struggling with injuries coming into this match. Arnaut Danjuma, Mouctar Diakhaby and Cesar Tarrega all expected to miss this trip.
