This is the first of two league meetings between PSG and Monaco inside a week. PSG lead Ligue 1 by seven points with a game in hand and host seventh placed Monaco. The league leaders are unbeaten in their last 12 matches (one of which was a friendly played during the 'winter break') and scored 24 goals in their last five matches. Their most recent match was a midweek 6-1 home thrashing of St Etienne in the French League Cup. PSG have won nine of their last ten home league games, including all of the last five. With 43 league goals already this season and just ten conceded, another title is on its way to PSG.
Monaco are having a much better season than last time around when they battled against relegation. They are only three places and the same number of points behind the Europa League place and five off the final Champions League qualifying position. That position is likely to worsen over the next week though with these two games against PSG but at least they are out of the way. Monaco are in good form with three wins in their last four league games, the most recent being a 5-1 home beating of fourth placed Lille. Their form on home territory is much better than that on their travels. Six home games have been won but only two on the road. Only one of their last four has been won and that was at Toulouse who are bottom of the league. Go for PSG to win this match and to be ahead at both half and full time.

It's looking unlikely that any side will be able to prevent PSG winning another league title. They already have a healthy lead and even have a game in hand. Home form is as formidable as ever and the goals are flying in. Monaco are in with a chance of European football again next season but need to improve their away form. This looks booked for PSG to get a ninth home league win of the season and to be ahead at both half and full time.
