Portugal hope to maintain their winning start to the 2024 Euro Qualifiers when they host Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday. Both teams will seek to qualify from Group J where Portugal are top and Bosnia-Herzegovina third. Portugal have been in terrific form so far in the qualifiers. They’ve won both their matches, scoring 10 goals and conceding none. The Seleccao have put their disappointing World Cup campaign behind them. They defeated Liechtenstein 4-0 on Match Day 1 before following that up with an emphatic 6-0 win over Luxembourg. Returning home since the opening round, Roberto Martinez’s charges will be confident of making it three wins in a row on Saturday. Portugal have lost only one of their last 17 Euro qualifiers with 14 of those fixtures ending in victory. Talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo is in the squad and will be expected to play a part here. The 38-year-old has scored four goals so far in the competition. Bosnia-Herzegovina trail Portugal by three points. This is after they began their qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Iceland. They were however unable to build on this in their second match, and lost 2-0 away to Slovakia. Faruk Hadzibegic’s charges have avoided defeat in seven of their last nine matches. This will give them confidence of being able to frustrate their hosts here. The Dragons have never participated in a Euro tournament in their history. Their start to Group J however should have instilled the belief that they can do it this time around. Bosnia-Herzegovina are currently tied with Iceland on three points and are one point adrift of Slovakia in second. Veteran striker Edin Dzeko will be expected to lead the attack here and add to his record 64 international goals. Others in the squad are Miralem Pjanic, Smail Prevljak and Gojko Cimirot.
