Phoenix and Rain or Shine are neck and neck at the top of the 2026 PBA Governors' Cup Group B standings with identical 4–2 records. However, the battle for the group’s top spot could be settled as the two teams lock horns in their rematch on Sunday. Phoenix enter this clash as slight underdogs, having dropped two of their last three games, while Rain or Shine are on an impressive four-game winning streak, leading us to back the Elasto Painters in our prediction.

Phoenix Fuel Masters got off to a terrific start to their 2026 PBA Governors' Cup campaign, winning their opening three games. However, that impressive run ended in their fourth outing as they fell by seven points to Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. 

This was followed by a 1–1 split of their two-game series against Blackwater Bossing, including a 106–100 defeat to the Bossing on Wednesday. Charles Tiu’s side have now lost two of their last three games, a significant dip after their 3–0 start. 

After an initial 0–2 start, Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have turned their fortunes around in the competition. The Elasto Painters come into this clash on a four-game winning streak, including an 85–83 win over Meralco Bolts in their most recent outing. 

Yeng Guiao’s charges prevailed over Phoenix Fuel Masters in their earlier meeting, winning 105–98. They have won three of their last four games against the Fuel Masters across all conferences, including four of the last five Governors' Cup meetings between the two sides.
