Jannik Sinner continues his bid to win a third successive outdoor hard court Australian Open. In the semi-finals, the second seed faces the last man to achieve that feat, fourth seeded Novak Djokovic. Time for our match prediction.

The winner will be up against either top seed Carlos Alcaraz or third seeded Alexander Zverev in Sunday’s final.

Only Eliot Spizzirri has won a set against Sinner in this tournament. That was the opening set in round three and since then, the Italian has won nine sets in a row, only losing more than four games in one of them. The quarter-finals saw him defeat eighth seed Ben Shelton.

Sinner leads Djokovic 6-4 in previous meetings. Djokovic won their first four meetings played between 2021 and 2023. Now Sinner attempts to win a seventh straight match. He’s won both of their matches on this surface, including a win here two years ago.

Novak Djokovic has only played two sets in the last couple of rounds. He received a walkover against Jakub Mensik in round four. In the last eight, he was two sets to love down to Lorenzo Musetti before his opponent retired.
