New Zealand take on Uruguay in their final match in Pool A of the 2023 Rugby World Cup. They start this game second in the table, three points behind pool leaders France. The All-Blacks are level on points with Italy who still have to take on Les Bleus. New Zealand lost their opening pool match to France but haven't looked back since. They've had wins over Namibia and Italy and amassed a total of 167 points, while conceding only 20. A win over Uruguay will take them into the last eight and could even still win the pool if Italy were to spring a surprise and not lose to France. It's unlikely they will field a full-strength side for this match and even if they don't a more than comfortable win should be achieved over the South Americans.
Uruguay are at least assured of not finishing bottom of this pool. Namibia have played all four of their matches and lost them all with a points difference of -218. Uruguay beat them in their last match but only 36-26. Before that they had lost 27-12 to France and 38-17 when up against Italy. They are ranked 17th in the world and that's 13 places behind their opponents. This is their first match against a full All-Blacks team. They did take on a New Zealand XV and lost that by a 61 point margin. Another heavy defeat looks on the cards here and we go for New Zealand to win on a -62 handicap.
