Corentin Moutet will face off with Alex Michelsen at Mallorca, battling for a chance at the title match. This will mark the second meeting between the two players, with the winner meeting Tallon Griekspoor or Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final. Read on for our prediction.

Moutet has been impressive in the grass swing after ending his clay campaign on a low. Meeting Learner Tien in the Mallorca Open quarter-finals, the two played out a tense match, winning in straight sets to bag the seventh win in nine grass matches.

A frustrated Moutet momentarily lost the plot as he argued with the umpires but regained self-control to finish the match 6-2, 7-5.

He will be up against Alex Michelsen, whom he beat 2-0 in Monte Carlo last season. Michelsen’s outing wasn’t as controversial, though he dashed home crowds’ hopes by eliminating Roberto Bautista-Agut, the only remaining Spaniard.

Michelsen will now focus on avoiding a second loss at the hands of Moutet. His switch to grass hasn’t been as smooth as the Frenchman’s. Michelsen has suffered two losses in his last seven matches on grass.

Across his last 10 matches, the American has suffered five defeats. Like Moutet, Michelsen will be playing his first semi-final match at Mallorca. He has featured in one semi-final this season and lost – at Delray Beach.
