Mönchengladbach vs Wolfsburg Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga

In the opening matches of the 32nd round of the German Bundesliga, Borussia Monchengladbach will be at home to host Wolfsburg this Tuesday. Ahead of the game, Monchengladbach are hanging on in fourth place with 56 points while Wolfsburg are sixth with 46 points. Monchengladbach suffered a 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich on Saturday and while they are still fourth, their Champions League hopes are now in jeopardy. Fifth placed Bayer Leverkusen play on Sunday and could rise to fourth with a win over 11th placed Schalke. It has not been a rosy run for Monchengladbach since the league resumed; they have managed just two wins in six matches and only on two occasions have they scored more than one goal. They head to this clash on the back of two straight losses though they will feel hard done after conceded an 86th minute goal to Bayern Munich in their latest game. With one clean sheet in 14 matches, they will also have defensive concerns as they go to this game. After the home loss to Leverkusen when the league resumed, they recovered to beat Union Berlin 4-1 at home. This will be their third home game after resumption and they will hope to make it two straight home wins but the fact that they have no clean sheet in the last six home league games sticks out. They have however scored in each of their last 14 home matches in the league. In their 15 league matches at home, Monchengladbach have won 10.

For Wolfsburg, a shot at the Champions League is impossible but they can fight for a Europa League slot. They are 10 points off the final Champions league slot and occupy the Europa league playoff slot with a three-point advantage and thus have all to play for in this game. In their last match, Wolfsburg let go of a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Freiburg and missed the chance to register a second straight win. They have conceded late in at least three of their last five matches and will be keen to avoid this for the sake of their Europa League push. They have three wins in six matches after the resumption of the league and failed to score in just one of the six games. Their away form in Bundesliga is quite impressive; Wolfsburg have won each of their three away games since resumption. This run has stretched their away form to six unbeaten matches in the league, five of these being wins. While they have just one clean sheet in their last six away matches, they have scored two or more goals in five of these. In their 15 away matches this season, Wolfsburg have failed to score in just three and have won eight. They have 12 wins overall in the season and have not lost to Monchengladbach in any of the last three meetings while each of the last five meetings have ended in over 2.5 goals.
