Molde’s fine run in the Elitserien has hit a bit of headwinds in recent times and they will hope for a good break as they start their Europa Conference League journey. They are set to host Swiss side Servette in the first leg of their second qualifying round. Coming from a 1-1 draw with Lillestrøm in the domestic league, they will be eyeing a better show here and an advantage ahead of the return leg. They’ve won once in the last three matches, but have three wins and as many clean sheets in the last five matches. Their only defeat was a shock one – 1-0 away to Sarpsborg 08 but they responded with a 5-0 win over Odd, before drawing with Lillestrøm. Out of five matches, it is in that defeat only that they failed to register a goal; they’ve scored in seven of the remaining eight. In the last 10 matches Molde have scored two or more goals in seven and won six.

Servette are just starting their season; this will be their first game of the new season, and it hasn’t been all that smooth in their preseason regime. They have no win in the four preseason friendly matches they’ve played, losing two of them and failing to keep a single clean sheet. Their most recent game ended in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Olympique Marseille, and it was the third time in five matches that they conceded two or more goals. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have failed to score in one while they have managed two goals in just one of them.
