This section of the US Open draw will produce a quarter-finalist who is either unseeded or outside the top 30. It could even be a lucky loser as Arthur Gea takes on wild card Michael Zheng in round three of this Grand Slam. Gea has won the two previous meetings between these players and we tip him to win this..

Whoever wins this will be up against either 31st seed Zizou Bergs or unseeded Botic van de Zandschulp in the last 16 of this outdoor hard court tournament.

Michael Zheng was 107th in the last rankings, 20 places below his opponent. 

So far in New York, he's had wins over Fabian Marozsan (in straight sets) and Bu Yunchaokete in four.

There have been two previous meetings between these players and both were won by Gea.  Both were played this year and went to a deciding set. The most recent meeting was in Los Cabos, a strange match in which both players won a set 6-0. Gea went on to win the title in that tournament.

Arthur Gea lost in the qualifying rounds of this tournament, but was then reinstated as a lucky loser.  He's since had victories over Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Zachary Svajda, both in four sets. This is his first time in the third round of a Grand Slam.
