The Miami Heat welcome the New York Knicks to South Beach for this classic Eastern Conference rivalry. Miami has been on an excellent run in recent weeks and find themselves atop the East with a record of 30-17. This is the second game of a four game home stand for the Heat and their last game was a 113-107 victory over the Lakers on Sunday. Their opponents have had a tough year so far and look like a different team to the one that secured the fourth seed in last year's playoffs. The Knicks are currently in 11th place, trailing the playoff spots by 1.5 games, and have a record of 23-25. New York’s last game was a tough 95-93 loss to the Cavs and this will be the second game of a three game road trip against some Eastern Conference opposition.

The Heat have been rolling. Seven wins in their last 10 games and a dominant home record of 16 wins and only five loses. We’ve talked about it many times but Miami holds one of the NBA’s best home court advantages thanks in no small part to the vibrant nightlife around the city. Expect that trend to continue here as the Heat should be in a good rhythm, playing at home for an extended stretch and just capturing the number one seed in the conference. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau hasn’t been able to recreate the grit that his team had last year which made New York one of the surprise packages of the 2020-21 season. With some uninspiring recent results for the Knicks, especially away from home, expect the Heat to roll in this one and consolidate their number one seed.
