Marta Kostyuk will face off with 11th seed Karolina Muchova in the fourth round at the US Open. The two meet for the first time with a game against Naomi Osaka or Cori Gauff awaiting the winner. Read on for our prediction.

These two players have had shaky runs at Flushing Meadows. Three straight wins mean Kostyuk will be playing in the US Open fourth round for the first time. Her previous best was the third round, which she surpassed with a win against Diane Parry in three sets.

It was the second straight match in which she played to three sets, and now she comes here having spent six hours and 34 minutes on court. The Ukrainian is 25th on the live rankings.

Muchova has been to the fourth round at the US Open three times and progressed twice. Her best run at Flushing Meadows was in the last two years, as she reached the semis.

Another deep run is on her mind and while the quarter-final is expected to be tough, this one should be a manageable game. The Cezch player hasn’t had it smooth in her opening three rounds, dropping a set in each.

The latest of them was a three-set win against 21st seed Linda Noskova, improving her run to 19-12 for the season and moving her to 17th in the live rank.
