With their chances of a second-place finish almost over, Marseille may look to close their home season on a high when they host Brest on Saturday. The second-placed side will welcome their 14th-placed visitors to the Stade Vélodrome for this Ligue 1 match. A 2-1 loss to Lille in their last league match was a near killer blow for Marseille. That was their second loss across three matches and kept them five points behind second-placed Lens. They have already clinched third place and that sees them in the qualifying rounds of next season's Champions League. Second place takes a side into the Champions League group but Lens only need a point from their final two games to secure that position.  Marseille have won their last three league matches at this venue and are unbeaten here for five matches which should give them hopes of ending on a high.

Brest have ensured survival with an incredible run of nine matches where they lost only once, winning five and drawing three. This has given them an unassailable eight-point lead over the relegation zone. Three wins across four matches should give them confidence of ending their away engagements with another positive result. Yet, that may need them to improve on their recent form. Brest are winless in four away league games and have won just once in their last 11 away Ligue 1 matches.
