Manchester United hope to bounce back from a crushing defeat in midweek with a victory against Norwich City in the Premier League this Saturday. The Red Devils are coming off the back of a battering from city rivals Manchester City in the League Cup on Tuesday night, the 3-1 scoreline not reflecting the dominance of the reigning Premier League champions. It puts pressure on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer only a few short weeks after the Norwegian masterminded back-to-back wins over Spurs and City in the league. Solskjaer's problem is that he has found no consistency with United, and it's often one step forward and two steps back. They have followed up that win in the Etihad with two wins from their five Premier League games since. We expect them to get a win here by starting strongly and building up a big lead by half-time. But even that will feel like it's papering over the cracks for a team that has to invest in a below-par squad this month.

One of the (many) reported targets of United is Todd Cantwell. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has been one of the shining lights of a difficult season for Norwich. Bottom of the Premier League table and seven points from safety, staying up seems unlikely but selling one of their best players would almost certainly consign Norwich to a demotion. Cantwell has been one of the few players scoring for Norwich this season. Given that they struggle to keep goals out, scoring more appears to be the only way Norwich can pick up more points. They have failed to score more than once in any of their last five Premier League matches. That's why it's hard to see past a comfortable United win here.
